Chinese run state media reported
that a counter—espionage law recently has been passed by China aimed to tighten
its state security and helping build "comprehensive" security system.
The said law allows its authorities
to seal or even seize any property that will be linked to the said activities
deemed harmful to country.
The authorities also ask
organizations or any individuals to stop or even modify any behavior that were regarded
as damaging to the country’s interests. Refusal to obey would allow China’s enforcement
agencies to take possession of all properties.
The equipment possession of
espionage, defined by state security, also made illegal. News agency released no
further details on the issue.
China has broad laws governing its
state secrets and security. The authorities was not clear what extent to the new
law that was passed revising and even re-naming previous security law for first
time after 21 years that believed would enhance its policing powers.
