United States as Philippine “Big
brother” not anymore, based on the 19th century concept of
policies. This was said by the American Ambassador.
“Both countries Philippines and
United States are now friends, dismissing the motion that Philippines was the
left wing notion of United States”- Goldberg said.
“To clear out the concept by just looking
back during the last century, I can say that now the relationships between both
countries were much stronger and healthier, since we are not Big Brother anymore.”
The relation of American and
Filipinos where people to people in which both immigrants from each country
would not make colony placing other as conqueror, the treatment between both
sides has been equal without any discrimination.
“Philippine was the only country
that has American long history of colony.” Goldberg said. He also
addressed some concerns from the United States to the Philippines in the
assistance to its economic and political motive.
Recently Php2.7 billion was
pledged by Washington in the rehabilitation of central Philippine areas
specifically in Visayas Regions. Those who were severely damage by Super
Typhoon Yolanda last 2013 of November. Besides from that USD50 million was also
supported by the United States in the military funding.
American Government believes that
“they
should help other who was suffering or needs humanitarian support” This
type of attitude was a nature to American people.
Not just Philippines but many
countries has fall on Americas part as the country has great financial and
human resources. “We don’t want to be viewed in the world as interference” were
just there to facilitate due to our capability to handle such situations in
helping other countries.
