Philippines to received C-130 Planes from United States

United States of America will again give 2 Lockheed “Hercules” C-130 planes to the Philippine Defense as the government revealed the appointment of the new AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Pio Catapang.

Catapang previously disclosed the looming donation of those planes in its visit to first Air Division headquarters located at Clark Field.

Catapang said on an interview that he just talked to United States counterparts and the good news was they will be giving another 2 C-130 planes to our country. The planes will be used as emergency support for disaster relief concerns and other humanitarian assistance.

The humanitarian mission was already deployed by United States to the Visayas Region during the Super Typhoon Yolanda which this took thousands of Filipino lives and destroyed homes.

The American extends its offer after they have learned the President’s Plan to purchase brand new cargo aircrafts to strengthen its military. The Philippine commissioned C-130 planes were used by the Philippine Air Forces in the transport of heavily relief goods to the victims of Super Typhoon Yolanda.

"The Philippine Military Authority is in the process of acquiring 2 more C-130, currently we 3 units of C-130. The PAF should have a minimum of 9 C-130".
