How much do Politicians in the Philippines Earn?

With all the data that was recently gathered about corruption and “lifestyle checks”, a big question might be in your mind that will make you wonder, “How much these public serving officials actually make? Surely salary must be very amazing that many people want to become one of the politicians, right?”

Well, not that really. According to data, highest elected position in Philippines, President, has salary of Php120,000 a month. Might sound like lot, but when you figure CEOs of some companies listed in Philippine Stock Exchange earn amazing millions per month, it is almost negligible. Isn’t president basically CEO of country? President’s Php.120,000 does not include taxes and deductions, so possibly his base monthly take—home salary is less.

To give a better idea on how much do a public officials earn per month, a table is created show the maximum gross salary each position monthly based on salary grade, from the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) members in a highly urbanized cities, to President of Philippines.
