Bangsamoro no more?

Comelec (Commission on Elections) Chairman Brillantes Jr. disclosed that DBM (Department of Budget) junked the proposed budget for the poll on the plebiscite of Bangsamoro, likewise removed the proposed budget of the Comelec amounting to P89.6 million for the operation of overseas absentee voting.

Upon submitting the Php36 billion by the Comelec, special projects were supposed t undertake. This budgets were funds for the Constitution amendments and Bangsamoro plebiscite which will happen 2015, but all of this was taken out.

Brillantes said that the P7 billion was the budget used for the execution of Charter change through a Con—Con (Constitutional Convention), which would no longer be possible since it “needs more time”.

Kaya nga nag-propose kami ng P7 -billion budget pero tinanggal ng DBM. Ibig sabihin hindi rin sila interested sa Cha-cha (That’s why we proposed a P7-billion budget but DBM scrapped it. This means they are not interested with Cha-cha),” Chairman Brillantes added.
