The DILG plans to procure more
than 2,000 brand new units of patrol cars in next two years.
During its recent League of the Municipalities
of Philippines, in the Mindanao Island Cluster Conference held in Pampanga, the
DILG Secretary Mar Roxas said that the process of the bidding for about 400 brand
new fire trucks has started this year.
According to the secretary on his
speech with the mayors, they have to coordinate with the different
municipalities that has no or old patrol and fire trucks so that they can be
the benefit from the said program first.
The secretary also said that DILG
is now set to distribute Disaster Preparedness Checklist as part of DILG’s ‘Oplan
Listo’, which draws from all best practices of different local
government units in terms of disaster preparedness.

during the said conference, Around 1,490 mayor members of LMP attended the said
conference.
