Government lawyers Oppose Senator Jinggoy’s Five hour break

Government prosecutors of the Philippines opposed the submitted request of the detained Philippine Senator namely Estrada for the five-hour break leaving PNP Custodial Center and to pay respect his relatives that have departed this coming all saints day.

The opposition filed in Sandiganbayan's Fifth Division that was chaired by the Associate Justice Jurado Office of Special Prosecutor, they argued that granting senator’s request will be perceived by public as a special treatment.


"This situation would tantamount giving a pass to all the prisoners specifically in the detention to visit departed family members during All Saints' Day, the situation will open floodgates on other detainees arguing that they also have the right and be given same privilege what senator has," prosecution said.

"Senator Estrada who is now facing non-bailable crime and presently detained and being detainee... will mean that his movement be restricted," prosecutors said.


The senator that is currently facing plunder charges in connection with Janet Napoles Php10 billion scam.
