New United States Vessel in Philippines

Another US vessel seen in Philippines, the USS George Washington an aircraft-carrier arrived Manila for routine port call.

The said warship arrived day after USS Peleliu departed, which was on hold after its soldiers, namely  PFC Pemberton, accused for the recent murder of a Filipino transgender named Jennifer Laude.


PFC Pemberton was then transferred to United States controlled detention facility located at Camp Aguinaldo. The US soldier remains the custody of US.

USS George Washington was also part of Phiblex exercises, in which PFC Pemberton and USS Peleliu participated in.

US embassy said that USS George Washington was first US ships to respond after the super typhoon Yolanda.


Approximately 5,500 number of sailors aboard on the said aircraft—carrier, and 320 of them are Filipino—Americans.
