Officer of Philippine Army and
two of his men killed by the members of Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters known
as BIFF in the Maguindanao, this was confirmed by a military official.
Colonel Hermoso, the spokesman of
6th Infantry Division of Philippine Army's, said that three were aboard on a
pick—up truck when they were ambushed by undetermined number of BIFF members along
national road in the Datu Piang town of Maguindanao province.
The Colonel said that three were
on their way to the Midsayap town North Cotabato province from the General
Santos City.
According the Colonel the victims
were shot at a very close range and divested their valuables. Initial
investigation concludes that robbery was the said motive of BIFF members as laptops,
wallets and other belongings of victims were missing.
Abu Misry Mama the BIFF spokesman
admitted that his group was then responsible for the reported incident that
killed the official and other two soldiers.
According to him the 400—strong
BIFF composed of the former leaders and some members of Moro Islamic Liberation
Front.
MILF signed peace agreement with Philippine
government last March of 2014.
