The Philippine soldiers may watch
free Pacquiao’s bout with American boxer Algieri as military designated its special
areas for a free live screening of the upcoming fight.
The Armed Forces of the
Philippines grandstand and wellness center in the Aguinaldo camp and AFP
Medical Center (MMC) have been officially designated as a free live screening
areas for our soldiers.
Lieutenant Colonel Patria of AFP
public affairs office said that the Air Force, together with the Army and Navy
were preparing a free viewing for their personnel.
“We hope that Manny Pacquiao will
bring Again the honor to AFP and country as reserve military officer,”
he said. Manny Pacquiao is currently a lieutenant colonel in reserve force of Philippine
Army.
Soldiers who were free on Sunday
may enjoy the prepared free show with their families. AFP Chief Gen. Catapang
Jr. said that he expected the bout to up to three to four rounds before
Pacquiao finishes Algieri.
Philippine National Police (PNP) will
not be holding free live screening in Camp Crame, said by the PNP Chief Superintendent,
Wilben Mayor also said that other PNP offices were not required to follow suit.
“It depends on the different
regional offices and other units if they will hold free screenings of their
own,” the Chief Superintendent said.
PNP expects lull in crime
incidents Sunday as Filipinos watch the said bout.
