Voltaire Gazmin the Philippine Defense
Secretary said that they will not bow with the demands of the ASG (Abu Sayyaf
group) that send threat to behead their German hostage.
“What Abu Sayyaf are doing are
like propaganda of theirs so that government would give their demands of a
ransom,” said by secretary Gazmin in a radio interview. “We
will not be intimidated by these gestures and actions.”
The Arab News wrote, that
Al-Qaeda—linked Islamic rebels threatened to behead German hostages. Abu Sayyaf
group demanded Php250 million as ransom for the captive.
However secretary Gazmin would
not budge and said that Philippine government “does not negotiate with
terrorists.”
He added that the Philippine President
has ordered “once and for all stop the Abu Sayyaf.”
“We are now changing our action plan towards
the enemy, and we do hope to effectively contain the movement of Abu Sayyaf,”
Secretary Gazmin said.
