Philippine Justice System Update – Bail has been granted by the Ampatuan Son

The judge that was handling the Massacre in Maguindanao trial granted the bail petition that was submitted by one of the Ampatuan charge with multiple murder in connection with “November 23, 2009” the deadliest political massacre of the decade.

Judge Solis-Reyes of Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 221 released a 12-page omnibus order that grant bail petition of Sajid Ampatuan the son of former Maguindanao governor under the patriarch Andal clan.


In the same order Anwar Ampatuan Sr. and Akmad Ampatuan both denied for bail petition.

The P200,000 bail amount per murder count that will total to P11.6 million for the 58 counts that was filed before the court was set by Judge Solis –Reyes .


The judge believed that prosecution panels have failed to established well-built evidence that will hold Sajid on detention while trial is ongoing.
