Math wizards from the Philippines
triumphed as they finished first runner-up in the overall category in World Math
contest held at Hong Kong, bagging with 14 trophies and medals.
The group of Philippine Math
wizards was composed of different schools from Integrated School of UP, St.
Jude Catholic School, Stefan Marcus School and King of Bethany Baptist School,
they have won as first runner-up in the overall group contest in the Primary
Mathematics Contest.
“Reyes, Marquez and Ong won three
gold medals and silver medal to King.”
“Proudly Filipino Kids, this
has been the best performance of the Philippines since 2010”, this was
the statement said by Dr. Chua the head of the Philippine team delegation at
the same time the president of MTG (Mathematics Trainers’ Guild).
Beside from the Philippines,
other countries participated in the said contest were Bulgaria, United States,
Australia, Ghana, China, India, Macau, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Russia, Malaysia,
South Africa, Mongolia, Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan.
