Plane aborts landing in China as traffic manager takes a nap

Eastern Airlines Corp passenger plane in China was forced to abort landing as the traffic controllers dozed off, this was the conclusion after the initial investigation.

A transcript of flight recording released by Civil Aviation Administration (CAA) of China shows that China Eastern flight crew have made repeated efforts to contact the assigned flight controllers at Wuhan Airport and those calls were unanswered.


The passenger airplane was then forced to return 900 meters and circle the airport for 10 minutes before it had landing, this was according to the report.

Chinese passenger airlines have been boasted in order to improved safety record in years, after the disastrous crash in 2004 that killed 53 passengers.


Chinese authorities have been send immediately by authorizes to conduct a thorough investigation on the stated incident, CAA officials guarantee that it will not happen again and those who were on duty if found guilty will be dismissed from service.
