28 Upgraded APCs by Philippine Army to be delivered early 2015

The PA (Philippine Army) announced the delivery of 28 Israeli upgraded APCs scheduled first quarter of 2015. This information was revealed by Lt. Col. Noel Detoyato Army spokesperson Thursday.

The Delivery of 28 Upgraded APCs scheduled for the first quarter of 2015. DND (Department of National Defense) announced the payment of P882 million to the upgraded armored personnel carrier, bagged by the Elbit Systems Ltd. An Israeli defense manufacturer will be done in tranches of three.


Defense spokesperson Dr. Galvez said that the first payment will be Php405 million and the second will be Php335 million and third at php142 million. Elbit Systems Ltd., announced formally thesigning of PHP USD20 million last June 22.

The APC upgrades include 25mm unmanned turrets, 12.7mm remote controlled weapon stations  and fire control systems for 90mm turrets.

The APCs will be supplied over one—year period.


The said contract marks a significant breakthrough for Elbit Systems, as its first one awarded to the company in Philippines.
