China—“it was just a game nothing to
worry”
An official of the Philippine
Navy maintained that (Phiblex) Amphibious Landing Exercise 2014 was not aimed to
send a message to China on the territorial dispute on West Philippine Sea.
The office chief of the Philippine
Navy Public Affairs Commander Domingo said that Phiblex exercise between United
States Marines and Armed Forces of the Philippines was only for training
purpose.
“We would like to train our troops
on the amphibious units to contribute to the national maneuver force,”
Domingo said.
Around 2,300 members from United
States and Philippines were set to attend the third major war games in our country,
which will be set to take place this September 29 — October 10 2014.
“The sole objective of the Phiblex
exercise is to enhance cooperation between the Armed Forces and security
cooperation in Asia—Pacific region,” Domingo said.
“This is to improve and combat readiness
and inter—operability of the participating forces,” Domingo said.
Cooperation Afloat Readiness and
Training (Carat) and Balikatan the other two major war games between the United
States and the Philippines.
