United States and China tension intensifies

Tensions between United States and China have been intensified due to the recent incident which a Chinese jet fighter flew close to United States anti-submarine aircraft over South China Sea.

The Chinese fighter jet came 6 meters of U.S. plane. Washington has already lodged a protest with China over the event. This issue could have led to the collision of the two planes.

United States spokesman John Kirby of the Defense Department told in a press conference that the recent incident took place about 217km east of China.

According to the spokesman, the Chinese jet fighter repeatedly flew close to United States aircraft, which was on a routine mission. The Chinese jet also said to have flown directly from the U.S. aircraft and exposed its weapons.

The United States P-8 plane is one of the latest anti-submarine patrol plane developed, it was the successor of P-3C. The plane has the capability to gather various data and surveillance activities.

China was then trying to place swathes on East and South China seas under its effectual control by increasing its military activities of its nuclear submarines in the area. P-8s was constantly monitoring movements of those Chinese submarines, in which this U.S. military activity irritates them.
