United States watching Mindanao

US (United States) is now watching Mindanao a “very closely” as one possible place for the recruitment of the new member of terrorist group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in the Southeast Asia, along with the Indonesia and Malaysia.

“We’ve taken note on the public announcements that have been made by some of the groups in southern Philippines about ISIS,” United States Philip Goldberg said. “We and the Philippine government are watching it very closely and it concerns us wherever it may be taking place.”

The recruitment taking place “everywhere, including West,” said Goldberg. “We are concerned about the idea of the ISIS trying recruiting foreign fighters all around the globe.”

Several organizations of the Muslim Filipinos have been publicly proclaimed that their allegiance to ISIS and its founder, Abu Bakr. Fi Filibbin posted video showing several men performing Bay—ah (pledge of allegiance to Baghdadi).

Muslim detainees purportedly at Special Intensive Care Area (SICA) of Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City, were seen in the video performing same Bay—ah to Baghdadi.

The City Mayor of Davao City said that some Davao residents were secretly recruited by the ISIS and left the country for either Iraq or Syria last July.
