Video — Mi-8 Helicopter hit by Kornet ATGM

The Kornet is an anti—tank Russian guided missile (ATGM). It is use is to deal with MBT (main battle tanks) and to engage slow and low flying helicopters, but it weapon was not developed to replace previous systems, due to its cost. It has a GRAU missile and NATO reporting name AT-14 Spriggan.

The Kornet-EM option uses a technical vision with automatic tracker on the target to make it a "fire and forget" missile, giving a 5—times increase in the accuracy of target tracking at any range. The weapons fire and forget capability gives the ability to salvo launch against different targets at once, and increasing its rate of fire and decreasing its number of vehicles needed for the mission.

It can also perform a salvo fire of two missiles against one target to defeat vehicles equipped with APS (active protection system).
