Filipina Holding High Ranking Position in US Naval Command

A Bolivar is one of few female that is now holding high ranking United States Navy position. Born Hawaii with her Filipino parents, The US Navy Rear Admiral Bolivar raised in traditional Filipino family.

The father of Bolivar is from the land of Bicol and her mother is from the land of Pangasinan, said by Bolivar in an interview. (Speaking in Filipino Dialect fluently)


Bolivar started her humble beginnings she was second of the four children of her father Teddy Sereno Bolivar and her mother Virginia Dolor Bolivar. The father of Bolivar joined US Navy as steward and retired as chief petty officer after 22 years serving the Navy.

Bolivar is among the first woman that will assume the position as Commander of the Joint Region Marianas. She will hold distinction being first female commander of the Navy Region in the Northwest.


The first Filipino woman that will hold number of important positions, Bolivar is also Guam’s US Defense Representative, Commonwealth of Northern Marianas Islands, the Federated States of the Micronesia and Republic of Palau, and the Commander of Naval Marianas Forces.
