Vice President Binay’s camp said to
the Commission on Audit Commissioner Mendoza misled Senate and public when she
failed to say that audit findings she presented during the Senate sub—committee
hearing have already been discredited and dismissed by Sandiganbayan in the
year 2011.
The mentioned Sandiganbayan
resolution was affirmed by Supreme Court in the year 2012, said by Binay’s
counsel lawyer Carlos Mendoza.
“It was expected that as a high
ranking public official, Ms. Heidi Mendoza would have been candid enough to
admit to the Senate that the audit report she was testifying was already
discredited by the Sandiganbayan,” said by Mendoza, in a released statement.
Although COA findings by Commissioner
Mendoza presented were dismissed by Sandiganbayan, Senate Majority Leader Alan Cayetano
yesterday urged his colleagues to take into account the mentioned “pattern
of corruption” in the various infrastructure projects in Makati City
based on the testimonies.
Sentaor Cayetano said that the
committee should weigh the testimony of Commissioner Mendoza togetherwith auditor
Alexander Juliano during the recent hearing.
