Alleged overpriced cost of the MB2
(Makati Building 2) is a basic study on the accountability and responsibility.
During Senate hearing, the former
Makati purchasing officer Hechanova testified that they have been rigging city
government contracts since before, a practice in the city, he said, since Binay’s
throned as mayor in since 1986.
Hechanova said that they fixed bidding
for R2.3—billion MB2 together with other huge projects to favor Hilmarc’s
Construction Corporation with the knowledge of Mayor Jejomar Binay.
The Former vice Mayor Mercado
told same on the Senate body that he have “benefited” from the multi—billion
MB2.
Binay’s responded by saying that the
probe was politically motivated and that resource persons being called were all
liars.
Cavite Gov. Jonvic Remulla the Spokesman
of vice president went to lump Hechanova, Mercado, and the deceased city
engineer Morales as part of the “triumvirate of corruption,” rigging the
city infrastructure contracts.
