President Aquino’s Obvious Gestures – ‘No to Binay Endorsement’

The President of the Philippines referring to his Vice President when he recently warned public against candidates who have been "extolling the populist sentiments with no viable substance," this was said by a Liberal Party member.

According to the Representative of Caloocan Honorable Edgar Erice in an interview, “for me, it is clearly that Vice President ‘Populist proclamations without substance’ so with that statement it clearly say that he will not choose VP Binay.

Erice also said that Aquino will not prefer Binay as his major successor because of personal relationship between both families.

The personal relationship is not the issue but willful governance” Erice said.

The President of the Philippine said that choosing the true candidate, and it is not about second term for him, is the rightful and correct solution for country's emerging problems.
However the president did not name any of his preferred political successors.

According to Erice the Liberal Party will start its standard process of choosing the right candidate as standard—bearer in the next year. He also said that President Aquino should pronounce his personal pick during his last SONA (State of the Nation Address).

The DILG Secretary Roxas II remains the presumptive presidential bet of LP. However, he is behind Binay in presidential surveys, who stays frontrunner despite rating decline due to alleged corruption issues.

Binay also accused Roxas as brains behind alleged "Oplan Stop Nognog 2016" and criticized Aquino administration for the supposedly targeting members of opposition.
