Raytheon Griffin rockets to counter swarming boat threats

Recently, Raytheon Company fruitfully completed its flight tests of Griffin™ C with an increased rocket capability. The said tests were conducted at Yuma Proving Ground.

The said test was conducted in Arizona which highlighted missiles in the flight Target capability when it was redirected to new target in its mid-flight. The IFTU is vital for naval forces facing boat threats that often blend together with the neutral shipping.

Griffin C’s has extended motor range, and has increased capability that will address to a longer range of missile target or even retargeting. Because as the forces operates in high—traffic waters the naval war fighters must make a split-second target decision in order to engage or disengage its targets.

The series of test that were conducted by Raytheon demonstrate missile's readiness as Surface Warfare answer for U.S. Navy's Combat Ships on Surface-to-Surface Missile Module.

Griffin missile that is already in production is a multi-platform and a multi-service weapon with a proven track record for a successful and rapid integration on land to sea and even air assets. The Griffin C, will significantly increase the capability to Griffin B variant that is currently on fielded by the U.S. Patrol Navy in Coastal vessels.
