Farmer Group and indigenous
peoples from the Hacienda Luisita denounced their violent confrontation in
front of the President’s house Quezon City Saturday morning.
“As the peaceful program just
ended when police unexpectedly dispersed the protesters violently, some were
hit in knees and fainted while other was hit in throat and need to be rushed to
the nearest hospital,” said in statement by the Alyansa ng Makabayan.
Group denied the reports that the
policemen were hurt in commotion and dispersal was justified.
The secretary general of the
hhuman rights Cristina Palabay told reporters that at three people from the Mindanao
were also injured in the police dispersal.
The secretary general of KMP (Kilusang
Magbubukid ng Pilipinas) Antonio Flores was arrested also by the police
dispersal team.
According to reports Palace
ordered arrest on the illegal protesters “We think that this is clearly a bitter
response from the Palace the farmers concerns” Palabay said.
