Cayetano reportedly listed among the
four people that NP (Nacionalista Party) is considering to be the official presidential
candidate in 2016 polls, but Sen. Cayetano said that he is not yet thinking ideas
on election related moves at this time.
“I am not in rush to settle that reported
issue,” Sen. Cayetano told the reporters. “I think that everyone needs to
focus on work.”
Just this week, Sen. Trillanes
announced that Sen. Cayetano, Sen. Marcos Jr., and the former Sen. Villar are NP’s
potential standard bearers. Sen. Trillanes said that he has already begun
preparing for potential presidential run.
For Cayetano, he believes that his
popularity rating is the one who will decide whether he will run or not in the
2016 election.
Aside from looking at the various
surveys on the presidential candidates, his camp conducts internal surveys in
order to assess his winning chances. He also refused to give his details on
these stated surveys.
“Field is very wide open for Filipinos
to decide who they want to be the next president,” the senator said.
Cayetano said that he seen additional
evidence against VPBinay, whose accused being behind on the overpriced
infrastructure projects in the Makati City when he was the mayor and alleged ill—gotten
wealth from side to side dummies.
“I personally attest that kung sa ebidensya
lang ang ating pag—uusapan ay napakararami pang lalabas at mas matindi,”
he said.
VPBinay the UNA (United
Nationalist Alliance’s) candidate for the next president, and a frontrunner in most
surveys, Some newspaper reports quoted him telling the Boy Scouts that he will
end up in the Palace/Malacañang.
“I am not surprised kasi si VPBinay
ay halatag atat na atat sa pagka pangulo,” Senator said.
‘Atat’ clearly means excited, Sen. Cayetano also said that it means
“atras—tago—atras—tago”
in case of VPBinay, who repeatedly refused to attend Senate’s probe and backed
out of scheduled debate with Sen. Trillanes.
