Paul Allen Microsoft co-founder sets new medical institute that will discover how the living cells work

Paul Allen a Microsoft co—founder just made USD100 million investment in the human cell technology. Discovering the kind of cells that used to make living human, Allen Institute for the Cell Science will soon be based in Seattle and its main goal will is only to simulate the living cell.

Not just single cell, but all kinds of cells that would probably be the answer to his vision, if you can build operating system, you will know all of them.


The said institute will be manned initially by 70 cell biologists and a computer scientist under management of Horowitz, researcher from University of Virginia. As of now it is not yet clear what this simulation entail, media already been given few catchy phrases to throw.


Allen with a proven track record for his investments into a good science, Allen Brain Institute, which was founded in the year 2003, already produced most comprehensive maps of mouse brain now used and last year he also founded the AI2, it was an institute that will study the artificial intelligence and machine learning.
