PH AAV Amphibious Assault Vehicle Review

AAV 7A1 Assault vehicle “Amphibious type” specially designed to shoreline assault operations from Operation ships, AAV7A1 highly maneuverable vehicle fully armored that can transport military soldiers through unfriendly operational targets.

As Philippine government open its bidding for AAV7A1 project, Only Samsung Techwin shows interest to manufacture AAV7A1, but within their own version with BAE System's KAAV as those old models were not produced anymore. The project has a total budget of Php76 million in which only Samsung Techwin complies all the necessary documents for the bidding. Upon signing of contract, 8 new AAV7A1 units will be delivered in the next 2 yrs. & 6 months  including logistics supports.

AAV7A1 can move ship to shore carrying its objectives. There is no other vehicle that can clearly compare due to its exemplary capabilities as direct sea to land attacks.



This vehicle is commonly used in operation as advance attack on shoreline encounters. It is heavily protected with aluminum hull to carry on gun fires for crew protection.

It is equipped with grenade launchers (smoke) and armed with .50 caliber machine gun. It has a  maximum speed up to eight to ten knots in sea and 45mph on land, can carry with a maximum of 21 soldiers and 3 crews including one technician, one engineer mechanic and one crewman.

The vehicle can carry up to 10k points and can transport them up to 300 miles specifically in land.
