Bayan (Bagong Alyansang Makabayan)
criticized President Aquino III for supposedly "floating" the idea
of seeking another term.
"The people do not want Aquino or
any of his clones to stay on beyond 2016. We have had enough of their
anti-people policies and corruption," a statement said by the secretary
general of Bayan Renato Reyes.
The President remained quiet on
his anointed one for the next 2016, saying that his decision will be based on
who can continue the reforms that he has started.
"Sa mga nagtatanong kung sino ang
magpapatuloy, baka nagkakamali tayo ng tanong. Baka hindi talaga 'sino' ang
dapat hanapin dahil walang ibang sagot sa tanong na iyan kundi 'tayong lahat
ang magpapatuloy nito,'" President Aquino said.
"Darating ang panahon para sa
pagpili natin ng kandidatong magpapatuloy ng ating tuwid na landas. Sana po,
hindi po ako ang kandidatong iyan," Aquino added.
According to the Bayan Secretary
general the President should stop using “daang matuwid” as rhetoric statement
to justify another term for the continuation of his policies by his anointed
clone.
Malacañang is becoming "more desperate," Reyes claimed.
Bayan branded Aquino as "delusional"
and "arrogant" for thinking that he can never do wrong and can
never be criticized.
The group said that a rally with theme
"Never Again to Dictatorship," is now set and scheduled on
September 19 in Manila.
