PH Pohang Class Corvette Review

As South Korean donates one of its “Pohang Corvette Class Warship” to the Philippine government to strengthen its military defense, in return Philippine Government thus also signed contract with South Korea to produce jets on the next years.


Let us take a closer look with the donated “PH Pohang Warship Corvette Class” – South Korea has a total number of seven twenty four Pohang warships which was build by the KSC (Korea Ship Building Corporation) but now they are known as the HHI or (Hanjing Heavy Industries). Officially the ship was lunched way back June 30 year 1984 in which it has been ordered for duty way back December 18 of the same year. In the year 2009 of June 30 Pohang Corvette warship was decommission to duty by the Korean Authorities in which some numbers were placed in the museum and others were donated to the allied countries Philippines as one beneficiary. 

Looking deeper towards the main advantage of this warship was that It has a maximum speed of 31 knot with 28km per hour that can carry around ninety five (95) crews and it is fully loaded with 62 compact guns, 2 twins Emerson guns and 1 Bofors gun and has two torpedo launchers. The warship is fully equip with Raytheon Search Radar with Fire control radar and a fully advance combat system that can detect Optronic attacks with its own Optronic director.
