United States Supreme Court is
under pressure halting Lethal Injection as a way of executing Lethal Injection,
after the process took 2 hours before it die.
Both supporters and opponents of
the punishment believed that United States Supreme Court will have to
reconsider the issue.
Joseph Wood charged with double
murder and was sentenced to “Lethal Injection” but it took 117
minutes before the sentenced murderer died. Wood was the third person to be sentenced
with lethal injection this year, the process normally takes maximum of 10
minutes but for Wood’s case a different side of a story.
According to Charles Ryan of the
Department of Corrections “Wood’s Execution was botched meaning he is
in comatose but never in pain” during the execution procedure. But amid
international uproar on the lengthy execution became a “torture” type of
punishment highly forbidden in United States Constitution.
“Botched execution that happen
results to unacceptable secrecy on the part of the Department of Corrections”,
Ryan said.
