Philippine Condor Scout Boats Overview

Philippine Army Elite Units has been equipped with highly maneuverable scout boats in order to fortify its campaign on kidnappings, piracy and terrorism.

With a total of 35 Condor Scout Boats units built locally in the Philippines, thru the initiative of Lt. Gen. Arturo Ortiz way back 2010 in response to project “Condor” of the Philippine army.


Boat engine has 115 horsepower at a maximum speed of 39knots. It can carry up to 6 full combat gear personnel and 2 crews. Project “Condor” has a total budget of Php10.566 million an equivalent amount for a light support boat that can carry 25 personnel in full combat gear.

Condor Scout Boats main function is to guard waterways, solution for illegal activities on coastal areas due to its high mobility in water and its fuel efficiency. Units have been commissioned to operate on highly risk coastal areas like Basilan and in some parts of Zamboanga City.
