Philippine MX-7 "Gagamba"

Gagamba” is a British made and modified Daimler Ferret scout, the armored vehicle was developed by Steel craft Industries.

MX-7 as its other name, a low cost vehicle suited for Philippine army. It was commissioned in the middle of 2000’s. MX-7 is an automatic transmission with 5 speeds. It has armored glass for better visibility.

“Gagamba” is armed with 1x1 7.62mm single M60 gun with 6 smoke launchers to the front. Due to the release of MX-8, parts of “Gagamba” were no longer in production. Does most of its components were locally fabricated.

MX-7 Gagamba was used as AEV (Armored Escort Vehicle) a two crew vehicle.

Compare to other models of MX-8, Gagamba is merely cheaper. But the problem is on its maintenance, the longer the years of service higher cost is much expected specifically on its components that would cost half a value of the vehicle.
