China asked Philippines to ensure
humane treatment of the 12 Chinese fishermen who have been found guilty in the
case of Illegal fishing and illegal entry to the Philippine territory.
The Chinese vessels carrying 12
fishermen that ran aground in the Philippine Tubbataha Reef last 2013 found
guilty of illegal entry and illegal fishing as what local court in the city of
Palawan’s decision.

The Foreign Ministry Spokesperson
of Chinese said that Philippine should be impartial in the conduct the case to
ensure legitimate rights and awareness of their Chinese fishermen.
Chinese Ministry will continue to
provide assistance with the twelve fishermen, and request the Philippine to
guarantee their rights and interest.
As to what the court says eleven
crews of the vessels could possibly face maximum of 10 years in prison and the
captain will be in prison up to 12 years and they are also mandated to pay the
fine amounting to USD 100,000 each.
