China in preparation for the building of lighthouses on the islands of West Philippine Sea,” this was the report gathered by sources according to China state media, in rebelliousness of calls from United States together with the G-7 joint statement for the freeze on any activity in order to ease the tension over claims.

Two islands in which China said that they will build lighthouses where also claimed by the country of Vietnam.

China has fueled the confrontation in South China Sea due to overlapping claims, in which they claim almost 100 percent portion of the sea.

As broadcast in China News Service, the Chinese Authorities on expansion has been conducting surveys on those islands for the building of lighthouses, namely Antelope Reef, South Sand, Pyramid Rock, North Reef and Drummond Island.

The report was not clear in which other three islets where the lighthouses will be building and if this includes disputed waters.  The proposal on freeze of activities in order to cool down the tension was pressed by US official but “China rejected it” (full Article here)
