Aside from the newly established island
at the Chinese reclaimed Mabini Reef, China’s recuperation projects are now in
full swing on three more other reefs within Philippines’ KIG (Kalayaan Island
Group) in the disputed areas in Spratlys archipelago.
In a recently territorial in-flight
monitoring, the security officials saw China’s reclamation activities were still
ongoing at the Burgos Reef, Kennan) Reef and Calderon (Cuarteron) Reef.
“While our political leaders are
busy squabbling, out there in the West Philippine Sea we are slowly losing our
very territorial domain to China’s creeping invasion,” said by a
security official, who blamed leadership’s on its long-time neglect in the
country’s territorial issues.
May of this year, it was originally
monitored that small structure was built. After just one month, the said entire
area was then reclaimed with several boats and barges used by the Chinese in
establishing an artificial islet out of the outcrop.
“Notable is the presence of
materials for constructing breakers plus a grab dredger and split hopper for
transferring dredged sand to other parts of the sea,” Monitoring
authorities said.
