Sichuan alarmed by the reports that
a number of Chinese citizens have been kidnapped if not getting killed in Philippines.
The Chinese diplomats are appealing to Philippine government to act on the
double on the issue and ensure penalty for the perpetrators.
Chinese embassy relayed its
concerns to the DFA (Department of Foreign Affairs) and PNP (Philippine National
Police).
Embassy officials held dialogue
with the anti—kidnapping watchdog Citizens against Crime and Corruption led by Ang—Sy
to express concerns over safety of their nationals and help determine ways of
protecting the Chinese while they are in Philippines.
“Until now none of the Chinese killers,
robbers and stealers has been arrested,” said by a Chinese foreign
ministry in an interview.
The officials could not declare
if payoff had been remunerated for the discharge of Chinese kidnap victims.
“We cannot provide information.
What we are concerned about is the safety of our citizens,” the
official added, stressing there was justification for the issuance of travel
notice by the Chinese embassy in Manila for Chinese tourists visiting the
Philippines.
