The Philippine Defense continuously
beefing up its military assets, now on the Philippine Navy, Department of
National Defense (DND) is set to spend P5.405 billion to purchase two
helicopters capable of eliminating submarine threats.
DND released a statement through Armed
Forces of the Philippines Modernization Act Trust Fund its plan to acquire two
units of anti—submarine helicopters complete with munitions, mission essential
equipment and integral mission support.

Bidders from foreign and local
companies are invited to join in which they would compete in two—stages of
bidding procedure with “pass/fail” criterion.
Interested bidders may purchase
bidding documents worth Php75,000 from DND—Bids and Awards Committee inside
Camp Aguinaldo from Monday to Friday, excluding holidays, between 8:00 am and
5:00 pm.
A First-Stage pre-bid conference
is scheduled for October 7 from 10:00 am with the first stage bid documents to
be delivered to the DND building on October 21.
Opening of the first stage bids
would be on the same day as the submission of the documents.
According to the DND statement,
the local Armed Forces where the bidders are based should use the equipment or
at least two other Armed Forces should use the equipment.
Suppliers of the equipment should
also be the manufacturers.
