French Shipbuilders interested in Philippine Navy’s Upcoming projects

The STX France one of the shipbuilders that has qualified to bid and to construct the Philippine Navy's two brand new light frigates, and aside from that STX France together with other French shipbuilders like DCNS are offering for a possible tender for the long awaited Offshore Patrol Vessel requirement and combat support vessels for Philippine Navy.

The MBDA Systems currently offering assorted missile systems to Philippine Navy for its upcoming and current naval air assets, Philippine Air Force, and Philippine Army (PA) for its air defense systems.


MBDA has strong chance of getting some all the missile system requirements for its new frigates. Some believes that offers include MM40 Exocet anti—ship missile, and 3 naval anti—aircraft missile systems: Mistral short range man—portable air defense missile, VL (vertical launch) version of longer ranged Mica missile, and CAMM (newer Common Anti-Air Modular Missile system).

Mistral is being offered to provide air defense systems for PN's current naval assets and Lightweight Multirole Missile and Sea Viper for its AW109 Power naval helicopters and its upcoming ASW helicopters.


The Exocet anti—ship missile coastal battery version has also been offered, Mistral to PA for their missile system requirements. PAF was being offered to use air—launched version of Exocet missile for its upcoming LRPA acquisition.
