Philippine warship arrives from Australia

The Philippine Navy BRP Ramon Alcaraz arrived back in Manila Saturday after its month—long naval exercise in held in Australia.

The BRP Alcaraz the 180—strong PN (Philippine Navy) contingent, who recently participated in Kakadu 2014 war games Australia.


Arrival ceremony headed by Admiral Bernardino was conducted in South Harbor Manila to render honors to BRP Alcaraz crew and the PNH431 Navy helicopter Augusta Westland, medical team, and exercise directorate members.

Sergeant Romeo Layag and the electronic technician Dose Jr. were honored for their heroism when they rescued drowning Australian national.

Philippine Navy and all members of its delegation enhanced their surface warfare capability through the said training, enhanced regional interoperability, and cooperation with other navies.

The second time Philippine Navy sent its ship to participate in Kakadu war games, the largest international maritime exercise hosted by Australian Navy.


BRP Alcaraz visited Sarubaya, Indonesia to promote naval diplomacy and to foster camaraderie with Indonesian Navy.
