The officer who discovered Chinese
military structures on the Mischief Reef in West Philippine Sea has been
promoted with two—star general.
Major General Raul del Rosario Deputy
Chief of Staff for Plans, wear his second star in a ceremony to be held in Camp
Aguinaldo.
To be honored in same ceremony is
Brigadier General Guillermo Molina Jr., incoming deputy chief of WESCOM (Western
Command), has been promoted also to a one—star general. WESCOM (western
command) secures Philippines’ territories in West Philippine Sea.
The Armed Forces Chief of Staff
General Pio Catapang expected to preside over the ceremony.
Member of Philippine Military
Academy “Maharlika” class of 1984, del Rosario a recipient of Outstanding
Philippine Soldiers (TOPS) 2011 award. Del Rosario also a recipient of the two
Distinguished Service Stars and the four Bronze Cross Medals.
“The promotions are part of a
soldier’s progressive military career. The new star on their shoulder
represents a bigger responsibility,” Harold Cabunoc the Armed Forces
public affairs chief said.
