Binay - “I am still the Vice President”, I will fight any impeachment move “Maliwanag naman po yata iyon”

The Philippine Vice President said that he would fight any move to impeach him, saying that he could only be removed from office if he committed violations during his term as vice president.

Vice President Binay said that talk of impeaching him could be part of the “Operation Anybody But Binay” hatched by his detractors in its apparent attempt to stop his presidential dream in 2016.

Binay specifically noted Justice Secretary De Lima who claimed to receive request from Senate to investigate him when he said to the blue ribbon subcommittee looking into Makati Hall parking building has not even made any recommendation on the said issue.

“The only reason I can be removed from office among others would be the violation of the Constitution during my term as Vice President. Maliwanag naman po yata iyon,” Binay added.

The Representative of Caloocan  Edgar Erice, member of administration’s  Liberal Party, said that Vice President Binay could be impeached for the betrayal  of the public trust for the alleged using public funds when he was the mayor of Makati City to fund his vice presidential bid in 2010.
