Philippine Ultimax 100 MK2

Ultimax 100 MK2 is a Singaporean made light 5.56mm machine gun that was developed by (CIS, now ST Kinetics)Chartered Industries of Singapore by team of engineers under the guidance of American firearms designer. The gun is extremely accurate due to its low recoil.

The Mk2 is a gas operated automatic weapon (capable of fully automatic fire only) with short—stroke gas piston operating a system powered by ignited powder gases diverted from barrel through port in gas block. Ultimax 100 is locked breech weapon with rotating bolt that contains 7 locking lugs.

It fires an open bolt position. The Mk2 bolt contains a spring extractor and casing ejector. The weapon's non—reciprocating cocking handle is located on left side of its receiver and occupies forward position during its firing.

The feature grants the weapon its low recoil (as compared to similar light machine guns) is the "constant recoil" principle.

The mk2 magazine consists of two tapered pins on bar, controlled by magazine release button. The machine gun feeds from proprietary 100—round synthetic drum magazine from modified 20 or 30-round STANAG 4179 magazine.
