Senate may order arrest to Mayor Junjun Binay and others

Senator Peter Cayetano said the statement to the Makati Mayor Erwin Binay Jr.’s on its move questioning authority of Senate blue ribbon subcommittee that summon him with no legal basis.

I’m waiting for them and hoping magpaliwanag sila. We’ll give them an opportunity pero kung hindi, mapipilitan sigurong umabot na ang committee ay umorder ng arrest nila,” Senator Cayetano told the reporters.

The Makati Mayor Binay snubbed the said hearing, the same with his secretary Baloloy, who submitted letter questioning the Philippine jurisdictional authority. The finance officer Limlingan, was nowhere to be found.

Vice President Jejomar Binay was invited to the hearing but he also did not attend, citing a full schedule.

Senator Pimentel Jr. said that they will deal with mayor Binay’s letter questioning subcommittee’s jurisdiction later.

We will refer this to our lawyers to study and deal with it later on,” he said.
