Swedish military “hunting submarine” operation

The officials denied that they were “hunting submarine”, calling a mobilization.  One of biggest since Cold War, an “intelligence operation”. The Russian’s denied that any of its submarines involved.

But Svenska Dagbladet  a Swedish daily news reported a damaged Russian submarine was at the centre of the mystery. The said report said that the Swedish military intelligence intercepted a radio signals between the area off coast of the Stockholm and Russian enclave of the Kaliningrad.  Home to much of Russia’s Baltic Sea naval fleet.


It was transmitted on a special frequency, used by Russia in emergency situations,” the newspaper wrote, citing Swedish military sources involved in the search. Sweden’s armed forces remained tight-lipped, but did say its focus was on “underwater activities”. “ Swedish Armed Forces are not in position to deny or even verify the media news or the speculations that has recently been published about missing submarine,” Erik Lagersten said.
