President Aquino III thanked the Filipinos
who gave him positive ratings to the latest SWS (Social Weather Stations)
survey, saying that continued public trust should make him and his team work
harder.
The Philippine President’s net
satisfaction mark recovered in third quarter after plunging to record low last June,
the latest survey by SWS (Social Weather Stations) showed.
The said survey was conducted
from September 26 to 29, found marked increases in President’s approval ratings
across geographic areas, including the urban poor locations.
President Aquino also said that he
was confident that he still enjoyed a high trust rating despite of the results
of an earlier Pulse Asia survey that showed 62 percent of the Filipinos
disapproved of amending the Constitution to allow him to run for second term.
“I am not saying that I want to
extend my term. But let’s talk about the numbers. When I won in 2010, I got 42
percent of the votes cast. It is not far from the 38 percent [who want Charter
change],” President Aquino told reporters in Indonesia, where he have
co chaired democracy forum.
The President was referring the
38 percent who have favored for amending Constitution in September 8 to 15
Pulse Asia survey.
