The Russia's SMD (Southern
Military District) regiment received six new fighter Su-34 bombers, renewing regiment's
fleet by 75 percent.
"In accordance with the plan of
re-equipping the troops of the SMD, a separate bomber aviation regiment,
stationed in the Rostov region [town of Morozovsk], has received another batch
of new fighter bombers Su-34 in the amount of six units. All aircraft have been
accepted by the engineers of the Morozovsk aviation regiment, who checked the
readiness of the aircraft for operation," SMD official said.
The Morozovsk crews to begin its scheduled
exercises late October of this year. In near future SMD is expecting to receive
additional 40 new aircraft, this includes the modernized Su-27 SM3 fighters and
the Mi—35 attack helicopters.
In derivative of Su—27 fighter, Su—34
fitted now with a twin AL—31MF after burner and a turbojet engines that can
carry payload to eight tons of precision—guided weapons over a 2,500 miles.
Russian aviation is getting more powerful with addition of Su-34 full back fighter bomber.It is a fixed wing aircraft that appears in battlefield.It can be used to bomb high traffic areas of the map and to support armor on the offensive.The speed of this Su-34 is 1900km/h at altitude and at sea level it is 1300km/h.
