A total of four soldiers from the
AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines) were immediately killed in a surprise
encounter with the Philippine Rebel Group known as the Abu Sayyaf in the
mountain of Talipao Sulu Friday.
Spokesperson of the Westmincom or
(Western Mindanao Command) Captain Rowena Muyela confirmed that the four military
soldiers from soldiers, along with the 9 ASG rebel members, were also killed in
firefight.
According to report Government
troops encountered an estimate of 200 members of Abu Sayyaf group in the
Talipao while continuously performing the law enforcement operations in the stated
area.
Meanwhile, the security escorts
of the Talipao Mayor Tulawie reported that there are at least 5 bodies
belonging to the government soldiers were retrieved from the said clash site
and about 20 other military soldiers were also wounded in the recent fighting
