Military Troops pursuing Abu Sayyaf stubble on a marijuana farm

Philippines Marines together with the police forces scouring Sulu for Abu Sayyaf rebel members stumbled a marijuana plantation on Maimbung town.

Col. Arrojado, the commander of Sulu Joint Task Group said that the marijuana plants were uprooted and will be turned over to Maimbung police disposal.


The discovered plantation was located at Barangay Patao, Sitio Kabugan.

Commander Arrojado said that the military is now investigating whether Abu Sayyaf was behind with the illegal operation in the area.

The said man hunt operations yielded 130 grown marijuana plants with estimated value of half million pesos,” he said.

Recently the Philippine military authorities sent two brigades of soldiers, along with the elite military units in Sulu to end Abu Sayyaf’s activities.


Since from the start of the enforcement operation by the Philippine authorities “The Chicken Run Troops,” recovered 15 harboring areas of Abu Sayyaf – four in the surrounding area of Mt. Sinumaan, five in the Kabotakas Barangay, one in Buhanginan, two in Danag, and one at Maligay, all in Patikul.
