United States to China “Stop-it’

In a statement in Washington United States Department says that China must abide to its commitment and exercise self-restraint in conduct of activities in South China Sea in which this, would not complicate or escalate the disputes that will affect peace and stability in region.

US Department spokesman Rathke commenting on report by the IHS, London—based security group, that China again constructing new island in disputed Spratlys in West Philippine Sea that has the capability of having an airstrip and a harbor.


“The large—scale construction or the major steps for them to militarize or expand its law enforcement operations at an outposts, by dramatically expanding size of feature through a land reclamation, would seem complicate the recent situation based from our view,” the spokesman said.


He also pointed out that China and Association of the Southeast Asian Nations committed themselves last 12 years ago for a code of conduct in South China Sea and should be transparent about its activities in the disputed areas of the sea.
